It's unbelievable/shameful/disgusting that officials/authorities/individuals in power would abuse their positions/take bribes/engage in such unethical behavior. {It made it difficult to/It was frustrating because/I felt helpless when I {tried to do business/navigate the system/enjoy myself and was constantly met with demands/faced obstacles/dealt unfair treatment.

Our recent experience at this establishment was truly disappointing. First, the bathroom was in a disgusting state with leaks all over the floor. It caused the entire place smell of mildew. To add insult to injury, the service was just as appalling. The staff were rude and appeared utterly disinterested in catering to our requests. We certainly won't be coming back anytime soon.
